As far as the season did not already start, Jordan Hamilton feels he has his chance with the Denver Nuggets. Two important players of George Karl rotation last season, crossed the Pacific Ocean to play in China this season. Wilson Chandler & J.R. Smith may not come back this season, a chance for former Texas Longhorns star to have playing time.
Benjamin Hochman reports for The Denver Post:
“Oh, absolutely. I feel that I’m in a great situation. The coaching staff had a talk with me right after the draft, and I also had a good talk with (team executive) Masai (Ujiri). They were excited to have me. So I’m just trying to get ready.”
A season ago, Hamilton, 21, led the Longhorns in scoring (18.6 points). But he slipped on draft night to near the end of the first round.
“As far as working on my game, I’ve been doing everything,” said Hamilton, who has played in some L.A. pickup games with Nuggets Al Harrington and Gary Forbes. “My ball-handling, being able to push it in transition. I think I’ll be able to help score the ball, as well as rebounding at my position. Posting up smaller guys and just doing whatever coach wants me to do. I’m trying to stay levelheaded with everything and keep a low profile.”
